Why the Name?

The name, “Torn Veil,” refers to both a specific veil and a historical event. Those familiar with Jewish history know that this veil hung in the Jewish Temple as a constant reminder that because of his sins man cannot come to God.  God is holy; man is not. Between God and man exist an impenetrable barrier.

In the gospel, we learn that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to remove the veil.  Throught Jesus’ life and death, God has torn the veil that denied men access to His life giving, thirst quenching, joy sustaining, and peace producing glory.  Now, you and I can draw near and be satisfied.
